TTVAR assistance for feral cat colonies

Stray and feral cats can be seen on every street, in every alley. Discarded by their owners, stray cats struggle to survive, eating out of dumpsters and sleeping in abandoned buildings. Even with only scraps of food available these cats will breed. Their feral offspring, raised in the wild, are elusive and do not trust humans.

It is these cats that Silicon Valley Friends of Ferals seeks to help through our Trap-Test-Vaccinate-Alter-Release (TTVAR) Program.

We are a loosely organized collection of individuals working to alleviate the suffering and overpopulation of feral and stray cats by implementing TTVAR programs in the Silicon Valley Area, and by rescuing tame and socializable cats into adoptive homes. TTVAR has been demonstrated to be more effective and economical than the traditional approach of euthanizing all feral cats.

Dear Friends: Due to time constraints on the currently active SVFF members, we are current unable to promise a response to all inquiries and requests for TTVAR assistance. You are still welcome to contact us -- it is possible you will receive a reply anyway, especially if your colony is close to an ongoing TNR project. We have posted a TNR self-help guide to help you get started on your TNR project on your own. Other organizations listed on our links page might be able to help.

SVFF has adoption fairs on a regular basis at the Petsmart at 607 Coleman Ave in San Jose, located just west of the Guadalupe Parkway (Rte 87). We will be there on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 to 5 PM, and have adoptable kittens and adult cats at each fair. Come see our kitties and meet us!

Silicon Valley Friends of Ferals has handled numerous cats through our TTVAR program and rescue effort, preventing thousands of homeless kittens from being born in the years to come.
